The Five Residences Hotel is strategically located in the heart of Hanoi, surrounded by iconic landmarks such as the Hanoi Opera House, Sofitel Metropole Hotel, and Trang Tien Plaza. These structures, known for their French colonial architecture blended with local cultural elements, create a unique urban fabric. S247 Design Studio embraced this distinctive architectural spirit to craft a design that respects the historical context while giving The Five Residences a luxurious and contemporary identity.

The concept focuses on a simple yet refined architectural mass inspired by Haussmannian architecture in Paris. The design emphasizes balanced proportions between the base, body, and roof, resulting in a building that reflects the era’s character while harmonizing with its surroundings.

  • The Base: Elevated with grand columns, the base exudes an immediate sense of elegance. Featuring two open floors, the first level’s expansive glass facade adds lightness and serves as the primary entrance.
  • The Body: The central section, showcasing two-story Haussmannian-style windows, brings sophistication and airiness to the design. This area houses luxurious apartments, each equipped with wide balconies that create a seamless connection between interior and exterior spaces. The balconies also provide residents and guests with opportunities to relax and enjoy views of Hanoi’s vibrant streetscape.
  • The Roof: Designed with a light yet sturdy profile, the roof includes an overhanging structure that shelters a rooftop garden—a private sanctuary for the project’s premier penthouse apartment.

The overall composition of the building at 96 Lo Duc is divided into three vertical sections with symmetrical horizontal axes, achieving a sense of balance and harmony. The design prioritizes a thoughtful ratio of solid and void spaces, giving the structure a refined yet robust appearance. Large northeast-facing windows flood the interiors with natural light and offer panoramic views of the surrounding neighborhoods.

For tourists, this design delivers a unique experience, immersing them in Hanoi’s architectural and cultural essence, creating a memorable and engaging stay.
